To provide a local information and support service for people who self-injure and to those people who support them. To provide free professionally qualified Counselling and facilitated group support (within the BACP codes of ethics). To increase the awareness and understanding of self-injury and related issues by providing specific training to groups, organisations and other professionals. To co-operate with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies in order to give individuals choices about access to the various services available locally and nationally. To provide encouragement in harm reduction and care of wounds. To provide a forum for self-injurers’ voices Our Service: we offer (without charge): CounsellingFully BACP qualified Counsellors offer one to one Counselling without time limit in all CA postcodes. Library loan serviceProfessional information is available. Books can be borrowed on a monthly basis. There are currently three locations for these groups, in Carlisle, Maryport and Whitehaven. Quarterly newsletterWe produce a quarterly newsletter containing up to date information about the service and current information on self harm and helpful articles. We also offer at extremely competitive rates Workshop & In-House TrainingWe provide Training about self-harm for schools, healthcare professionals and other organisations.
