About SIS

SIS is a local voluntary organisation based in North Cumbria that aims to support people who self-harm, and offer information and support to those people who support them.
 

SIS Bank of Sessional Counsellors

SIS now has a team of Sessional qualified Counsellors available to provide counselling and group support across North Cumbria. All have experience of working with people who self-harm and feel suicidal, as well as a range of experience that includes working with abuse, domestic violence and rape, bereavement, mental health issues and young people.

  • Individual counselling from qualified therapists
  • Facilitated and self-help support groups
  • Information about self-harm and related issues
  • Telephone and e-mail support
  • Library loan
  • Awareness training and presentations
  • Supported opportunities for service users - e.g. self-development and skills training
